About Our Firm

Munnings Law provides services across Turtle Island (North America) to Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients. Our clients are Indigenous Governments and Businesses, Private Businesses and Entrepreneurs and Non-Profits.

We strive to develop a firm culture rooted in the Anishnaabe values of: wisdom, love, respect, bravery, honesty, humility and truth. These values, known as the Seven Grandfathers, create a culture based on striving to be a good person. In addition to these teachings, we work to encircle our practice with Seven Generation Thinking – decision making based on the effects today’s decisions will have on future generations.

Our Mission

We strive to provide our clients with personalized, honest and practical legal advice with a view toward the future, always learning from the past.

We take pride in creating relationships with our clients based on trust and honesty and being available to our clients to provide advice promptly.

Our Core Values

What makes us different?

It’s not just about finding a good firm, but finding the right firm.
Here is who we are, and how we do things.

I.  Wisdom

We leverage our extensive experience and knowledge to deliver effective and cost-efficient legal solutions.

II.  Love

We are passionate about supporting Indigenous groups, businesses and non-profits, dedicating ourselves to their success.

III.  Respect

We honor your concerns with the utmost attention and are happy to meet at your convenience—whether in your office, over coffee, lunch or dinner—and to attend meetings in person as needed.

IV.  Bravery

We advocate vigorously on your behalf, balancing the necessity of litigation with its potential costs.

V.  Honesty

Transparency and regular updates are central to our practice. We ensure you are always informed.

VI.  Humility

No task is too small or too large for us. We acknowledge our limitations and provide recommendations accordingly.

VII.  Truth

“You can handle the truth!” We value authenticity and enjoy our work. We remain true to our core values while striving to find the best solutions for you.

We embody and live by our values.

Community Involvement

Help others and give something back. I guarantee you will discover that while public service improves the lives and the world around you, its greatest reward is the enrichment and new meaning it will bring your own life.
